Final Step – Configure your home page!
Now its time to make our homepage look pretty. Lets see what Zenfolio can do! Actually, its quite simple to make a really good looking homepage with Zenfolio. Its also quite simple to make a pretty ugly homepage too if you aren't careful. At the end of the day, Zenfolio only gives you a handful of options for how to setup your homepage. However, in my opinion, the layouts look pretty nice, and should make the majority of photographers quite happy.
There are two basic layouts schemes, 7 Portfolio types, and 3 Discover types.
I like the Portfolio layouts a lot, and there are 7 to choose from. Apparently most of these are new in Jan 2010, which is great. Because the 3 "Discover type" layouts are really not that interesting to me. I think some people they might work, but just not me. Here is the final after changing my theme from the default gray color called “subtle”, to “fine-art white”, with a Portfolio B layout:

The other theme choices, besides the "Portfolio" type themes, are called Discovery type themes. I think they would work better if you have a lot of galleries and different photo types in your Zenfolio Account. However, since I only uploaded one gallery, it doesn't look that great to me. Here is what it would look like in the Discovery A theme:
